Accessibility Statement

This statement covers the Author AI website and web app at authoraiapp.com. It describes what we are aiming for, what we know is not finished, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

OUR COMMITMENT

We want everyone to be able to write with Author AI, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, screen magnification, voice control or other assistive technology. Making the website and web app usable for as many people as possible is ongoing work, and we treat barriers as bugs to be fixed.

THE STANDARD WE WORK TOWARD

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard we design, build and review against. We do not claim that every part of the service fully conforms to it today; the limitations we know about are listed below.

WHAT WE DO

  • We test pages with a keyboard alone and with screen readers, and we fix what we find.
  • We use automated accessibility checks while building, alongside that manual testing.
  • We review new features for accessibility before release, and we keep improving older parts of the product.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

Some parts of the service are not yet where we want them to be:

  • Cover designer and character editor. These tools inside the signed-in app are still being improved for keyboard and screen reader use. Parts of them may be difficult or not possible to use without a pointer.
  • Checkout. Payments on the web are handled by a third party, Paddle. The checkout form is provided by Paddle and we do not control its accessibility.

If one of these stops you from doing something, contact us and we will help you get it done another way.

If you run into a problem using Author AI, or need content in a different format, e-mail us at support@authoraiapp.com. It helps if you tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use.

We aim to reply within 5 business days.
